.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...
High pressure settles into SE Texas today behind a departing cold
front with a clearer weekend in store. Offshore flow is expected
to continue through Saturday with seas remaining around 2 feet.
Winds look to diminish by early Sunday as high pressure slides
eastward with an onshore flow pattern expected to develop
throughout the day. South to southwest winds will pick up ahead of
the approach of a storm system and subsequent cold frontal passage
on Tuesday with seas building to around 5 to 7 feet. Moderate to
strong offshore winds will once again develop following the exit
of the front.

40’00 FW at MLT. The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum
deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions. Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
