.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...
Onshore winds have returned and will strengthen to more moderate
caution levels through early Wednesday. Minor coastal flooding
may occur in the coming days during high tide in response to this
persistent onshore fetch. Shower and thunderstorm coverage will
increase during the day Wednesday...some of these thunderstorms
may become severe. The late week pattern will be dry and quieter
with weaker winds and lower seas.

The Texas City Ship Channel is approximately 11 miles from GB Buoy

40’00 FW at MLT. The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum
deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions. Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
