Good Afternoon All,
With the recent outbreak of coronavirus and possible threats associated we wanted bring awareness to the issue. There will be additional information distributed as we receive it.
As a reminder, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) requires the master of ships destined for a U.S. port to report immediately any death or certain illnesses among the ship's passengers or crew. See this link for additional guidance.
https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cargo/reporting-deaths-illness/index.html. Below is the list of illnesses as well as signs and symptoms that require reporting to the CDC:

respiratory syndromes, and novel influenza viruses.
•Signs and symptoms of serious disease or of public health interest included in the Federal Regulations: ◦(A) Fever (has a measured temperature of 100.4 °F [38 °C] or greater; or feels warm to the touch; or gives a history

◦(D) Symptoms or other indications of communicable disease, as the Director may announce through posting of a notice in the Federal Register. (Check CDC webpage for additional reportable diseases and reportable information
requirements).
Some questions that should be asked of the foreign crews prior to arrival include:
1. Is the crew healthy?
2. Does anyone need to seek medical attention?
3. Has any of the crew traveled to or from the Wuhan, Hubei Province or the Shanghai Metropolitan areas since mid-December?
We appreciate your assistance with this. As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our office at the numbers below or command center at (508)457-3211.
Respectfully,
