.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...
Moderate north winds and elevated seas will gradually diminish
through the day.
Mariners should again anticipate low water
conditions in the northern parts of the bays as we head into the
next low tide cycle later this afternoon and evening. As
high pressure moves off to the east on Thursday, east to southeast
winds will resume. A coastal trough will develop off the middle
Texas coast on Friday and move eastward Friday night & Saturday.
Look for winds and seas to increase as this occurs. Winds will
become northerly as it departs and persist through the weekend.

The Texas City Ship Channel is approximately 11 miles from GB Buoy

40’00 FW at MLT. The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum
deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions. Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
