Category I Channel Closure of the Houston Ship Channel for dredge pipeline operations at Houston Ship Channel LT 94 is APPROVED for Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017 from 0700 to 1200. Once the operation is complete, please notify the
VTS Watch Supervisor immediately so vessel traffic may resume.
Houston Traffic will make the appropriate closure notification broadcast. Please ensure the lead vessel checks in on VHF 05A prior to commencing your operation. If this project becomes delayed, contact the VTS Watch Supervisor at
your earliest convenience so that we may cancel or amend the proposed channel closure.

Effective October 24th, 2017
The dredging of the Houston Ship Channel between beacons 66 and 72 has been completed. The 42’ restriction to Exxon has been lifted. The HSC is good for vessels with a draft fresh water of
45’ up to Exxon. The HSC from Exxon to Shell still has a 41’ draft restriction. The contract for this portion of the channel has been let and work should begin in the next few days.<span-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">
