SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

A southerly flow will prevail until a cold front moves off the

coast early Saturday morning. Periods of fog will be possible

before the cold front moves off the coast. Moderate offshore

winds will prevail Saturday through Christmas Eve as high pressure

builds into the lower Mississippi Valley.

Effective October 24th, 2017

The dredging of the Houston Ship Channel between beacons 66 and 72 has been completed.  The 42’ restriction to Exxon has been lifted. The HSC is good for vessels with a draft fresh water of 45’ up to Exxon.  The HSC from Exxon to Shell still has a 41’ draft restriction.  The contract for this portion of the channel has been let and work should begin in the next few days.<span-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">
