<span-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Cold front has pushed water out of Galveston Bay, NOAA PORTS buoys are reporting less than ACOE Project maximum drafts in Houston Ship Channel.  Maximum deep draft vessels will be delayed transiting HSC.  Prevailing winds from the South this morning.  Water is starting to return to the bay.  Next cold front is expected Thursday night.

.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

South winds will gradually diminish today as a cold front

approaches Southeast Texas. A brief round of sea fog could develop

this evening ahead of a cold front that will cross the coast

sometime after midnight. Moderate to strong northeast winds can be

expected in the wake of the front and another Small Craft

Advisory may be required for the offshore waters.

Effective October 24th, 2017

The dredging of the Houston Ship Channel between beacons 66 and 72 has been completed.  The 42’ restriction to Exxon has been lifted. The HSC is good for vessels with a draft fresh water of 45’ up to Exxon.  The HSC from Exxon to Shell still has a 41’ draft restriction.  The contract for this portion of the channel has been let and work should begin in the next few days.<span-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">

Barbours Cut channel has a 44’ restriction and the Bayport channel has a restriction of 42’ and greater is daylight restricted, two tractors Pilot’s discretion.<span-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">
