Subject:NWS Update: Sea Fog Potential Through Mid-Week Houston / Galveston / Freeport Fog advisory

Subject: NWS Update: Sea Fog Potential Through Mid-Week

Good morning,

Bottom Line

Sea fog development will be possible within both Matagorda and Galveston Bays, as well as in the nearshore waters beginning Saturday evening and potentially continue through Tuesday. Monday evening into Tuesday will provide our best chance for sea fog potential as dew points rise into the mid-upper 50s as winds turn more southeasterly, and warm saturated air filters over cooler shelf waters. A Marine Dense Fog Advisory may be required at times for the coastal waters and adjacent bays. The chance for fog will end on Wednesday, as our next cold frontal passage clears the coast.

Impacts:  Dense sea fog could reduce visibility to below 1 NM at times. Navigation could become difficult at times.
