A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for parts of Southeast Texas beginning
at 6 AM CST this morning. Areas of rain and possible embedded thunderstorms
are expected to develop early this morning and slowly shift to the east
and southeast through tomorrow morning. Locally heavy rain will be
possible, especially where any training of storms sets up, and this
could lead to flash flooding. Much of the area remains nearly saturated
from recent rainfall, and numerous area rivers remain elevated. Any
additional heavy rain during this event will likely runoff quickly
and could contribute to rapid rises on area rivers, creeks and bayous.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until Noon Thursday for parts of Southeast
Texas. Areas of rain are expected mainly in the morning. Locally heavy

flooding of underpasses and typical low lying areas will be
possible. Bayous and creeks may see rapid rises and could reach
out of banks. Rural low lying areas, low water crossings and
poor drainage areas may flood. Rises on area rivers can be
expected, and this will extend river flooding that is ongoing.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Monitor forecasts as this event unfolds and be prepared to take
action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
