Subject: Arctic cold front arrives Saturday

Good morning,

Just want to get the heads up out there about the cold front next Saturday. Arctic air should pour into the area and will set the stage for the coldest temperatures of the season so far.

Warm and humid conditions Saturday morning will come to an abrupt end as showers and thunderstorms and widespread rainfall moves through the area. Drying out Saturday afternoon with temperatures likely falling throughout the afternoon with windy conditions.

No freezing or frozen precipitation is expected.

But the cold and windy conditions will likely prevail Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. A Hard freeze may occur.

Marine interests: northerly winds of 25 to 35 knots are likely and stronger winds may be possible in the wake of the front. Small craft advisory to Gale is possible.

This is preliminary but confidence is increasing on the strength of the cold outbreak.

Stay tuned!
