.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

Dense fog remains in both the bays and nearshore waters this

morning, and a Dense Fog Advisory has been issued. A warm front

will move onshore later this morning and winds will turn southerly

behind this boundary. Southeasterly winds will strengthen

overnight Friday into Saturday morning as a result of deepening

Texas Panhandle low pressure system. A cold front will pass

through the coastal waters Saturday afternoon.

<span-size:10.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The ACOE project draft for the TXCSC is 45’00 FW at MLT from the GB BUOY to Valero Dock # 42, the channel above project draft is 40’00 FW at MLT.  The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions.  Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
