1430       USCG notice received // Advises HSC open to all traffic for daytime transits only, with Carpenters Bayou and Old River remains closed. 

Vessels currently in the contamination area are not authorized to depart until decontamination is completed.  VTS Houston/Galveston directs all tow vessels transiting through the contamination zone between Tucker’s Bayou and LT Buoy 116 to maintain a 30 minute spacing to complete pollution inspection

.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

High pressure will build into the southern plains and bring a

moderate northeast winds to the coastal waters this morning. Winds

will begin to decrease this afternoon. High pressure will move

east tonight and winds will veer to the east. Low pressure will

develop in the lee of the Rockies on Thursday and winds will veer

to the southeast. Onshore winds will remain in place through

Saturday. A strong cold front is expected to cross the coastal

waters Saturday night.

<span-size:10.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The ACOE project draft for the TXCSC is 45’00 FW at MLT from the GB BUOY to Valero Dock # 42, the channel above project draft is 40’00 FW at MLT.  The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions.  Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
