Synopsis for High Island to the Matagorda Ship Channel out 60

nautical miles including Galveston and Matagorda Bays

259 AM CDT Sun Sep 29 2019

.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

Moderate to strong onshore winds are expected through early next

week. SCEC conditions in place very early this morning are

expected to gradually improve deeper into the morning but may only

improve enough for the caution flags to be dropped on the bays

today. The persistent onshore fetch will increase tide levels

along the Upper Texas Coast, increasing potential for rip currents

and minor coastal flooding. Periods of scattered showers and

isolated thunderstorms can be expected, with the best chances

looking to be along the coast and over the waters farther down the

coast towards Matagorda Bay.
