.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

Winds have decreased below caution criteria over the past few

hours. Some isolated showers have popped up over the waters as an

upper level low moves off the coast, but the chance of showers

decrease through the morning. Light to moderate northeasterly

flow will continue through the day today, becoming southerly

tonight, then southwesterly tomorrow. Southerly winds will

increase ahead of an approaching upper level trough over the

weekend, then increasing to at least caution criteria by Monday

as a passing cold front ushers in a strong northerly flow. Seas

may increase to three to five feet this weekend as Potential

Tropical Cyclone Sixteen moves towards the Florida Panhandle.

The Texas City Ship Channel is approximately 11 miles from GB Buoy

<span-size:10.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The ACOE project draft for the TXCSC is 45’00 FW at MLT from the GB BUOY to Valero Dock # 42, the channel above project draft is 40’00 FW at MLT.  The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions.  Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
