.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...
Look for increasing east and northeast winds this morning in
association with a coastal trof situated off the coast. Showers
and isolated thunderstorms can be expected today as the next
storm system moves in from the west. Winds will gradually back to
the north later today as the coastal trof moves to the east
southeast. Moderate north winds will perish overnight. Winds and
seas will gradually diminish going into the weekend. Another front
is expected Sunday night or Monday.

The Texas City Ship Channel is approximately 11 miles from GB Buoy

40’00 FW at MLT. The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum
deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions. Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
