.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...
Onshore flow will be light to moderate through the day today with
increasing cloud coverage. Winds will increase to 15 to 20 knots
tonight and through the day on Tuesday with seas 3 to 5 feet with
occasional 6 ft seas in the Gulf waters. So, caution flags may be
necessary beginning tonight. The increase in the onshore flow is due
to an approaching cold front that will pass through the region late
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Expect increasing chance of
showers and thunderstorms out ahead of the front and with the
frontal passage. Winds will again reach SCEC or even advisory level
criteria on Wednesday as a strong northeasterly flow sets up behind
the front. Light to moderate onshore flow returns on Thursday.
