.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

Seas will subside under weaker winds that will gradually veer

westerly ahead of an approaching weak cold front. This front will

clear the coast this evening and initiate a weak north flow.

Return flow late Saturday with onshore winds strengthening Sunday

per lowering western Texas pressure. The next cold front will pass

across the waters Monday night. Strong north winds in the front's

wake, with responding heightened seas, will reach Advisory levels

late Monday night and persist through Wednesday morning.

The Texas City Ship Channel is approximately 11 miles from GB Buoy

<span-size:10.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The ACOE project draft for the TXCSC is 45’00 FW at MLT from the GB BUOY to Valero Dock # 42, the channel above project draft is 40’00 FW at MLT.  The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions.  Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
