.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...
Strengthening south winds and rising seas can be expected through
Tuesday. Periods of showers and possible thunderstorms can be
expected beginning Monday afternoon or evening. Strong and gusty
southerly winds will be in place tonight over the Gulf waters.
Winds and seas could come down a little Tuesday and Tuesday night
but they will increase again with winds shifting to the north and
northwest on Wednesday morning after a cold front moves through
the area. Before the front arrives sea fog could develop beginning
Tuesday afternoon or early Tuesday evening. After the cold front
passes fog will end. Moderate to strong offshore flow in the wake
of the front will rebuild seas.

40’00 FW at MLT. The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum
deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions. Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
