Cold front moved through our area Wednesday afternoon and pushed considerable amount of water from Galveston Bay.  Presently maximum deep draft vessels may incur delays due to less than project maximum draft in Houston Ship Channel.

.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

While the flow has weakened overnight, moderate southwesterly flow

is expected to return today with winds in the 15 to 20 kt range. So

caution flags have been issued for Matagorda Bay and for the Gulf

waters out from Matagorda Bay beginning in the late morning through

the afternoon. Onshore flow returns over the weekend and into next

week ahead of the next approaching disturbance. While exact

details are unknown at the moment, the associated cold front is

timed to pass over the local waters late Tuesday.
