Houston, Galveston, Texas City, & Freeport, TX - Daily Port Update
Cold front moved through our area Wednesday afternoon and pushed considerable amount of water from Galveston Bay. Presently maximum deep draft vessels may incur delays
due to less than project maximum draft in Houston Ship Channel.

.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...
Expect light and variable winds through the morning hours as a
weak boundary moves off the coast bringing a slight chance of
light rain showers across Galveston Bay. This boundary will move
back inland this afternoon beginning onshore flow that will last
through Monday morning. The flow does become more moderate late
tonight into early tomorrow morning that may result in caution
flags being issued for the offshore waters.
The moist easterly
flow will also bring the threat of sea fog developing in the Bays
and coastal waters beginning Sunday afternoon through at least
Monday. Monday night into Tuesday a disturbance will approach the
region before stalling. Depending how far eastward the associated
cold front gets before stalling will determine how long the fog
will last. But a stronger front will push through the midweek
that will bring an end to the fog should Monday night's system not
make it past the coast. A chance of showers and isolated
thunderstorms will last through late Thursday.

40’00 FW at MLT. The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum
deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions. Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
