Synopsis for High Island to the Matagorda Ship Channel out 60

nautical miles including Galveston and Matagorda Bays

.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

Moderate southeasterly flow will lead to seas building to 4 to 6

feet in the coastal waters and up to 7 feet in the off shore

waters today. Thus caution flags have been issued for the near

shore waters and a small craft advisory has been issued for the

off shore waters through midnight tonight. The warm moist onshore

flow will also lead to patchy fog beginning to form this afternoon

in the Bays and along the coast. The coverage and thickness of

the fog will increase tonight and persist through midweek. Rain

chances will fluctuate through the next few days as a series of

upper level disturbances track near the area. A cold front should

pass off the coast Wednesday night bringing an end to the showers

and fog.
