.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...
After a stretch of continued swell kept seas somewhat elevated,
waves late tonight are beginning to subside to become more in line
with the light winds. A brief offshore wind is beginning to
develop, but should return to onshore by tonight. Areas of fog are
occurring with visibility falling to 2 miles or less in the
nearshore waters and into the bays. Expect this to continue for
large chunks of the time through Tuesday. There may be enough mixing
to allow for improvement during the afternoons, but fog should be
expected to return in the evenings until a cold front crosses the
region early Wednesday. Beyond the frontal passage, expect moderate
to strong offshore flow through Friday.

40’00 FW at MLT. The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum
deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions. Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
