<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif;color:#0000B3">The
US Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston’s Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) held a
Port Coordination Team (PCT) conference call this morning at 0900 hours to look at the traffic situation on the Houston Ship Channel and surrounding region, in view of the last several days of foggy conditions and in anticipation of continued foggy conditions
throughout the area for the next few days. Your WGMA Maritime Affairs team participated on the call and has the following report for our membership: <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif;color:black">
<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif;color:black">
National Weather Service:<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif;color:#0000B3"> Currently dense sea fog sits along the beachfront
across the Texas coastline, reducing visibility from 2-3 miles to less than ½ mile at times. A persistent onshore flow will create a warm, moist air mass over relatively cool sea surface temperatures just offshore and including inland bay areas. As a result,
areas of dense fog will be possible into Thursday afternoon with visibility below 2 nm at times. Anticipate disruptive fog across the region until Sunday at best.<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif;color:black">

<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif;color:#0000B3">There are no restrictions in place at this time. As always, once we begin resumption of traffic, VTS will look at the traffic situation and may impose restrictions such
as one-way traffic and traffic separation. Please try to reduce the time of stay in the anchorages at Bolivar, so that places are available when one is needed.<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif;color:black">
