<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) has revised its process for granting exemptions to the Governor's quarantine order for critical infrastructure employees.

<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Key updates:

1.  <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">TDEM will follow the CISA guidance on defining a critical infrastructure employee. CISA released version 2 of the guidance over the weekend.

2.  <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">The exemption will be by company and job position, rather than by individual.

3.  <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Visit https://tdem.texas.gov/ga-11-and-ga-12-travel-exemption-form/ to fill out the form for all of the positions needing exemption at your company. Note, you will only see space for one position at the bottom of the form, but the next position will populate once you fill out the first position.

<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">

<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">You should still consider giving your critical infrastructure employees a letter on company letterhead stating their need to travel. If you do not already have such a letter, you can find a template written by the Port Bureau here. Based on a conversation with Department of Public Safety today, you should make sure to include a phone number that will be answered 24 hours a day.
