.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

Despite decreased winds...elevated seas will persist over the

offshore waters this morning before finally decreasing by this

afternoon. The light to moderate northeast to east winds today

will become southeast by Monday as a warm front moves inland.

Generally light to moderate onshore winds will prevail through

much of the week. The next cold front could move into the coastal

waters Thursday night or early Friday morning.

The Texas City Ship Channel is approximately 11 miles from GB Buoy

<span-size:10.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The ACOE project draft for the TXCSC is 45’00 FW at MLT from the GB BUOY to Valero Dock # 42, the channel above project draft is 40’00 FW at MLT.  The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions.  Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
