Port of Houston status:<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">The port of Houston (public and private terminals) are operating normally.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">The Houston Pilots moved an average number of ships yesterday, despite a temporary fog closure.

 

 

·     National Weather Service<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333"> reports a dense fog advisory until 9 am, with continued patchy fog during the morning. A cold front is expected late Thursday, bringing potentially severe thunderstorms, high winds, hail, and street flooding.

Texas ports:<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">No known closures due to COVID-19. All ports are continuing normal operations.

·     Sector Houston-Galveston<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333"> (Ports of Houston, Texas City, Galveston, and Freeport) is requesting all vessel Masters complete an attestation letter regarding the health of their crew.

·     Galveston Wharves at the Port of Galveston (Last updated 4/5).

Federal/state/agency updates:<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">CDC published guidelines on disinfecting facilities. Note, if it has been more than 7 days since a sick person visited or used the facility, additional cleaning and disinfecting is not necessary.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Sector Houston-Galveston provided an update and some clarifications:

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Coast Guard does not actively oversee or approve quarantine/recovery plans.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Coast Guard issued national guidance to Coast Guard personnel to wear cloth face coverings while on duty or on Coast Guard property if it is not possible to maintain safe social distancing.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">The cruise ships in Galveston were issued orders to provision for crews to be removed after health screenings and to have a medical plan in place to treat crewmembers onboard.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">At this time, no Sector Houston-Galveston Coast Guard member or their families have been confirmed to have COVID-19.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Sector Houston-Galveston issued an MSIB announcing the new Port State Control Targeting and Arrivals email address is D08-SMB-VTSHouston-Targeting@uscg.mil.
