·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">The port of Houston (public and private terminals) are operating normally.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">The Houston Pilots moved an average number of ships yesterday.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Senator John Cornyn and Tim Jeffcoat, SBA Houston, joined the boards of the Greater Houston Port Bureau and the Economic Alliance Houston Port Region to discuss infrastructure investments and industry stimulus in the CARES Act and future stimulus bills.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">The SBA has depleted the appropriations for PPP and EIDL small business assistance and will not be accepting further applications until another appropriation is approved.

·     Following a press conference with President Trump on April 16, the Whitehouse published “Guidelines for Opening Up America Again,” a three-phased approached based on the advice of public health experts. President Trump stated during his remarks that state governors would have the authority to reopen their states as early as today if their states meet the gating criteria.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Gov. Abbott is holding a press conference today at noon to announce his plan for gradually reopening Texas. Most local news stations will air or stream the press conference live.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Gov. Abbott’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism launched the Governor’s Small Business Webinar Series yesterday. More dates will be announced soon.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">FEMA Administrator Gaynor released guidance to emergency managers with lessons learned from the first 30 days of the Whole-of-America response:

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Preserve and prioritize scare resources. Consider the new fact sheet on preserving PPE.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Use data to drive decision-making.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Utilize federal medical staff, Federal Medical Stations (FMS), and Large-Format Alternate Care Sites (ACS) to be adaptable to changing situations.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Support efforts to flatten the curve.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Strength the supply chain to expedite the movement of critical medical supplies.
