.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...
Southeasterly winds return today and may briefly strengthen to
near caution levels tonight before the next cold front arrives
tomorrow morning. As weekend surface high pressure expands
eastward it will tighten the northeast pressure gradient enough to
briefly strengthen offshore northeast winds to Caution Sunday.
Onshore winds will return to the area and strengthen to more
persistent early week Caution levels as the waters fall between
low western Texas pressure and eastern high pressure.

40’00 FW at MLT. The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum
deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions. Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
