.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

Northerly winds behind an overnight frontal passage will veer

around to onshore by tomorrow afternoon. As surface high pressure

expands eastward it will tighten the northeast pressure gradient

enough to briefly strengthen offshore northeast to east winds to

Caution tomorrow. Southerlies will strengthen to more persistent

early work week Caution levels as the waters fall between low

western Texas pressure and eastern high pressure.

The Texas City Ship Channel is approximately 11 miles from GB Buoy

<span-size:10.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The ACOE project draft for the TXCSC is 45’00 FW at MLT from the GB BUOY to Valero Dock # 42, the channel above project draft is 40’00 FW at MLT.  The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions.  Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
