Port of Houston status:<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">The port of Houston (public and private terminals) are operating normally.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">The Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority will meet remotely today at 9:15 am.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">The Houston Pilots moved an average number of ships yesterday.

 

 

Texas ports:<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">No known closures due to COVID-19. All ports are continuing normal operations.

·     Galveston Wharves at the Port of Galveston. The next Board of Trustees meeting is today at 10:00 am, and will be available to watch online. (Last updated 4/24).

Federal/state/agency updates:<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Gov. Abbott’s Report to Open Texas and associated executive orders laid out the following:

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Executive Order 20 terminated the quarantine order for non-essential business travel from Louisiana to Texas.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">The Stay at Home order will be allowed to expire on April 30.

·     Executive Order 18, which details reopening, supersedes conflicting local orders.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Phase I reopening begins Friday, May 1:

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Single person offices can reopen.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Restaurants, retail stores, movie theaters, malls, museums, and libraries can reopen at 25% occupancy.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Minimum standard health protocols must be followed.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Individuals are encouraged to wear appropriate face coverings, but no jurisdiction can impose a civil or criminal penalty for failure to wear a face covering.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Phase II could begin as early as May 18 if there is not evidence of a rebound.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Essential critical infrastructure employees are exempt from some of the quarantine guidelines.

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">CISA released guidelines for critical infrastructure operations centers and control rooms, which include:

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Coordination with federal, state, and other authorities,

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Communication and information sharing,

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Protecting personnel,

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Protecting equipment,

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">Workforce planning, and

·     <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#333333">What to do in the event of exposure.
