.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...
As surface high pressure remains in place over the southeastern U.S.
onshore winds are expected to continue through the weekend. The
persistent southerly winds will also increase seas and enhance
the risk for rip currents over the next several days. The approach
of an upper level disturbance heading into the weekend will
increase precipitation chances, with periods of showers and
thunderstorms expected to persist at least into the first half of
next week, potentially longer.
