.SYNOPSIS FOR HIGH ISLAND TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT 60 NM...

A weak frontal boundary reaching the coast this morning will turn

winds offshore through the day. This will usher in drier late

week and weekend conditions. Short term winds will generally be

northeast to east...becoming more onshore during the late afternoon

hours. A more established onshore wind will return by mid week.

Significant sea heights will remain low, at two feet or under,

through Tuesday morning.

The Texas City Ship Channel is approximately 11 miles from GB Buoy

<span-size:10.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The ACOE project draft for the TXCSC is 45’00 FW at MLT from the GB BUOY to Valero Dock # 42, the channel above project draft is 40’00 FW at MLT.  The length on the final approach from the Houston, Galveston, Texas City tri-channel split is approximately 6 miles, the width is approximately a 400 ft bottom, the Turning Basin is approximately 4,200 ft long and 1,200 ft wide with a maximum deep draft of 45 ft FW at MLT, and is navigable day or night with no air draft restrictions.  Only TX City Docks with 45’00” maximum deep draft at MLT are TC # 41, & 42
