Hope this email finds you all well!  I wanted to take a moment and call to your attention Marine Safety Alert 05-20 from the U.S. Coast Guard's Inspection & Compliance Directorate regarding Hazardous Area Electrical Installation issues recently identified by Prevention personnel across the country.

The purpose of this Safety Alert is to emphasize the importance of properly installed and maintained listed or certified safe electrical equipment in hazardous areas with the goal of reducing the risk of fire or explosion onboard vessels.  It is a quick read, but well worth your time.  Widest dissemination to your colleagues and clients is welcomed!
