<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">1. Data from an Air Force Reserve Unit Hurricane Hunter aircraft

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">indicate that a broad area of low pressure has formed in association

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">with the surface trough and upper-level low over the south-central

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">Gulf of Mexico.  However, the low's circulation is not well-defined,

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">and the current shower and thunderstorm activity remains somewhat

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">disorganized.  The aircraft also found a large area of tropical

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">storm force winds well to the north and northeast of the low.

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">Upper-level winds are forecast to gradually become more favorable

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">while this system moves northwestward during the next couple of days

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">across the western Gulf of Mexico, and a tropical depression or

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">tropical storm could form during that time.  Another Hurricane

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">Hunter aircraft will investigate this system Monday morning.

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">Interests in and along the northwestern Gulf of Mexico should

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">monitor the progress of this system.  Regardless of tropical cyclone

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">formation, tropical storm conditions are possible along portions of

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">the middle and upper Texas coast and the western Louisiana coast

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">Monday night and Tuesday.  There is also a risk of heavy rainfall

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">and possible flooding across portions of eastern Texas and western

<span-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"">Louisiana.  For additional information, please see High Seas
